Introducing Gas Cap, an app that lets you price compare gas stations in real-time. You can see details about each gas station by viewing their profile, such as their gas price, if they have an air pump (and if it is actually in service), if they have a restaurant attached, and much more!
The Guild of Book Workers holds an exhibition every year and I was asked to create a catalog for their 100th Anniversary. I was supplied with the photos and text and had to create a cohesive layout with nice pacing. My goal was to make the catalog feel high-end yet delicate to go along with the Guild’s target audience. I achieved this through the use of neutral colors and elegant typography.
In my 3D packaging class, I was asked to design packaging pieces for a new or existing brand. I chose to create packaging for ModCloth, a mostly online store which is beginning to open brick and mortar stores. Additionally, I designed a new website to go along with it and fit the, “vintage made modern,” vibe.
For this project, I was asked to create a typeface using random mechanical objects that were assigned to me. From there, I illustrated the application of the alphabet in with a word and a poster.
Seeing Double is a boozy ice cream line aimed at helping you get through low moments in any given day or in life. From naming the different flavors, writing stories to go along with them, and using my own handwriting for the flavor names, this project was a labor of love (& ice cream).
GVSU has many different places to choose from when it comes to food. The brief for this project was to create a kiosk ordering screen for one of them. One of my favorite places to grab food was Subway so I took their arrow elements and ran with it to create an easy and understandable ordering experience. I also wanted the copy of the menu to reflect the speed and sassiness of the workers.
This project began by conducting research with a classmate. We then each had to create a website for a travel agency. Nordic Travel is a travel agency specializing in trips to Iceland and they aim to be very informative about what guests need to pack for their visit and places they should visit.
Avon has been around for over 130 years, yet their sales have been declining lately. From my research, this is partially due to the newer generations having a lack of interest in pyramid schemes. I decided to rebrand Avon in order to give it a fresh, new look to appeal to this generation. I wanted to stay true to the brand in as many ways as I could, but I also wanted to expand their horizons by making the brand more lively through the use of new colors and imagery.
This is a brochure to introduce people to one of the many neighborhoods of Grand Rapids, East Hills. The goal was for it to be informative while showcasing the town's different aspects. My solution focuses on the many parks in the area and the laid-back, relaxed atmosphere created by the people and shops of the town. I used soft, neutral colors and an easy to read sans-serif to convey this.
For this project, we were asked to create an invitation suite for an event. I focused on creating wedding invitations inspired by the poem, “The Oak Tree,” by Johnny Ray Ryder. I took elements of an oak tree, such as the color and shape of the leaves, and incorporated it with the event details. Since this suite was focused around nature, I thought it was fitting to print them on recycled paper.
Sweet Nostalgia was born out of my love for baking that I got from my grandma at a young age. The perfect cupcake shop for those looking to be transported back in time through cupcake flavors, cupcake names, and the vintage branding. A peaceful, nostalgic, and cozy space, and brand, to remind young adults of the simple joys in life and the memories shared with loved ones. From the cupcake names inspired by memories from my childhood, to the sayings on the cup sleeves and stickers (with a cupcake & coffee twist, of course), every part of this brand was made with extra love and care, just as my grandma showed me.
